In the period 2005-2009 a team of professors of the Dipartimento di Lingue e Letterature Straniere Moderne, University of Bologna, coordinated and served in a EU/Canada Programme for Cooperation in Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training focused on the study of nationalism, transnationalism and migration: CEMMENTI – Canada Exchanges with the Mediterranean: Migration Experiences and their Impact on Nationalism, Transnationalism and Identity.
